Your role

Improve our processes

We trust our employees and encourage them to take on responsibility from day one. In our team you will assume responsibility for the development and improvement of the procedures in our industry ecosystem. Your prior experience with energy market tools and processes will ensure that you are able to automate and optimise everything we do. You’ll be the hub for all procedural topics in relation to our offer – using your passion for innovation and technology to drive our processes forward as precisely and flawlessly as possible. Crucially, you really get a kick out of understanding and optimizing complicated processes and make it easy for everyone else to work with them.

Manage our partners

 As our Business Operations Manager you’ll be monitoring the performance of both our existing, and our potential partners. You’ll be reviewing data to gain a deeper understanding of the processes under your supervision, and ensuring their performance is in line with our vision. This relationship is crucial to our operation, and you will be crucial for ensuring a successful collaboration with our partners.

Inspire long-term change

While process improvement and partner management are most pressing right now, we want to change the way energy works for good. So if you are the kind of person who can affect regulatory change, we would be very happy for you to proactively lobby to deliver regulatory changes to the energy market in support of 4hundreds strategic direction.

What you offer

You have a considerable amount of operational experience from a Startup, independent energy firm or consultancy background. The passion you have for innovation and tech should be matched by your proven track record in operational excellence and process automation.

As an independent problem solver, you are more than happy approaching challenging new tasks, always working ‘hands-on’ towards tangible objectives. Project Management comes natural to you, as well as confidently engaging and interacting with stakeholders across the business.

You have deep knowledge in some of our key topics (balancing, market communication, energy data management, prognosis and procurement). Don’t worry if you don’t know it all, as long as you have a burning desire to further your knowledge on the rest.

You thrive in an international environment and have excellent English skills as well as a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, economics, computer science or a related field.

Your role

This is a very exciting time in our company’s growth: we have quadrupled our customer base in less than six months. Our team is growing fast to match. We have huge growth potential and a very supportive majority shareholder in OVO Energy (the UK’s most successful independent energy supplier).

As a member of the management team you will be playing a key role in all areas of potential growth, and you will be responsible for growing, managing and shaping your product team. You will focus on delivering innovative and usable product solutions that address our customers’ needs and desires, while meeting our business objectives and technology constraints.

You will:

Own the 4hundred product roadmap

Develop and maintain the product roadmap, understanding dependencies and constraints across the business
Prioritize the work in a way that your team always works on the most impactful projects
Deliver an extraordinary user journey

Bring our users into the development process

Build a deep understanding of the problems we are solving and communicate relevant user insights throughout the business
Stay intimately connected to our users (online and offline) in order to bring the user voice into the product creation process
Know how to scope features as small as possible to ship them early and use the feedback of our users and team members to iteratively improve the product

Build and run an exceptional team

Shape the product culture within the company
Define the product staffing requirements, recruit team members and define, manage and track performance
Manage the product development using Agile and Scrum methodologies

Build your leadership profile

Represent 4hundred to the outside community e.g. active hosting of product events, participating in external events, conferences, meetups, thought leadership groups

You are an absolute user advocate: You want to build simple, intuitive and delightful digital user experiences. You are hands on, make sound decisions under pressure, and resolve issues effectively. You love collaboration and are able to thrive in a fast-moving, unstructured entrepreneurial environment. You confidently engage and interact with a wide range of stakeholders, in native German and excellent English.

Your experience:

  • Over the last 10 years, your path led you to working for a disruptive B2C company, with preferably 2+ years in a subscription-based e-commerce, Fintech or similar
  • The ability to translate customer needs, business priorities and technical requirements into a specific design direction, including visuals and interactions
  • A proven track record of leading product teams through all the phases of a design project, from early ideation to detailed execution
  • Systems thinking and delivery – proven experience delivering simple, delightful products with underlying complexity that can be scaled up to serve tens of thousands of customers
